Ship firefighting for fire brigades

Theory 

Theory programs are developed in consultation with you, fully tailored to your region or  (shipping) company. The theory has an interactive interpretation by using various workshops, cases and a marine firefighting practical on location. The theory program will in any case consist of: 
  • Different types of ships and the associated risks and dangers 
  • Fire development on board of ships 
  • Risks, dangers and manner of occurrence in the event of fire in different                    compartments (accommodation, engine room, deck and holds) 
  • Fire fighting techniques on ships' stability during fire fighting on board 
  • The use and reading of ship drawings and safety plans
  • Marine firefighting practical 


Practical

For practical training, Marlin Marine Firefighting works together with various companies to ensure that the training is as good as possible in line with the practice in your region. Inland shipping and seagoing vessels can also be used to make the training as realistic as possible. If you prefer training at a training centers, this is of course also possible. The practical programs are always developed in consultation with you, fully tailored to your region or (shipping) company. The practical day will consist of: 

  • Safe repressive action on board ships 
  • Exploration and prioritization 
  • Recognition of various risks during fire fighting on ships 
  • Creating a deployment plan in collaboration with crew 
  • Reading and using existing ship plans on board 
  • Use of firefighting materials on board (Own equipment and / or ships material) 
  • Assessing stability problems during firefighting work 
  • Hoses and other firefightig material management on board
