With almost 25 years of practical field experience, Marlin Marine Firefighting offers training, instruction and advice for maritime incident response and ship crews. The owner of Marlin Marine Firefighting has a history in these specific markets. After spending almost 15 years at sea in various positions, he has completed his sailing career as a captain on board of incident response vessels. He then went ashore in the port of Rotterdam, where he led hundreds of nautical incidents in more than 8 years as an battalion chief at the Harbor Masters division of the port of Rotterdam. In his role as battalion chief he was also closely involved in training and practicing the North Sea Fire Brigade team, the current Maritime Incident Response Group (MIRG). In addition, he was an active member of the team as Coastguard Liaisson Officer with duties; providing advice to fire brigade teams and the link between the captain, the coastguard and the port authorities.
